Top Film & Television Apps in Central America Q4 2023

The final quarter of 2023 saw significant activity in the Film & Television app category across Central America. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Disney+ had a robust quarter with a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $770K in the last week of December. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of around 304K in early November and settling at 218K by year-end. Active users saw a slight dip mid-quarter but recovered to finish strong with nearly 2.6M users by the end of December.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies also performed well, with weekly revenue hitting a peak of around $614K in the final week of December. Downloads showed consistent growth, peaking at 273K in mid-November, while active users steadily increased, ending the quarter at approximately 2.4M.

ViX: TV, Fútbol y Noticias demonstrated strong performance in downloads, maintaining figures above 230K weekly, with a peak of around 450K at the start of the quarter. Revenue was somewhat volatile but peaked at $423K in mid-November. Active users, however, saw a decline, ending the quarter with about 1.7M users.

Star+ experienced consistent revenue, peaking at around $289K in late October. Downloads varied throughout the quarter, with a high of approximately 192K in mid-November. Active users remained stable, ending the quarter at around 2.3M.

Lastly, Crunchyroll saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at about $171K in the last week of December. Downloads spiked to 130K during the same period, while active users grew steadily, reaching approximately 905K by the end of the quarter.
